SHEFFIELD, Mass. – Lenox’s Max Shepardson struck out nine in a complete-game effort Thursday to take a 3-0 win over Mount Everett.

Shepardson scattered three hits and walked just one.

“It was a pitchers' duel today between Matt Lowe and Max Shepardson,” Eagles coach Dan Lanoue said. “Lenox was able to capitalize on the little things today. Then they were able to put a couple of hits together and score some extra runs later in the game.”

Lowe struck out 10 and walked one, but Lenox generated seven hits to score one in the fourth and two in the sixth.

Zack Nicotra and Jack Hicks each went 2-for-3 for the Millionaires, who got three RBIs from Shepardson.

In the fourth, Nicotra led off with a single and went to third on Hicks’ sacrifice bunt. Shepardson then brought Nicotra home with a sacrifice fly to give Lenox a 1-0 lead it never relinquished.

Lenox (6-7) hosts Monument Mountain on Saturday.

Mount Everett (7-6) goes to Pittsfield on Saturday.
